Other Information:William enlisted on 7th April 1916 into the Royal Sussex Regiment, then on the 16th transferred to the 2/1st Herts Regiment. He remained with them until 26th July 1917 when he transferred to the 2/5th Bedfordshire Regiment, then on 5th October transferred to the Labour Corps, Agriculture Coy. He was transferred to serve with the R.A.M.C. on 27th November 1917, and remained with them until 15th March 1919 when he was discharged from the army "No longer physically fit for war service." He was serving with a training battalion at Blackpool at the time. William was the brother of Bridget Brown of 6 Trinity Road, Rotherhithe, London.
