Other Information:Having previously served with the 51st Bn. Royal Sussex Regiment, Edward enlisted into the R.A.M.C. on 3rd February 1919. He was 18 years and 9 months old, and was a Merchant Seaman by trade.
On 17th July 1919 he was posted to serve with the 324th Field Ambulance, but was transferred to 8th Coy the following 24th October and was sent to serve at the Leeds War Hospital. On 11th February 1920 he proceeded to B.S. Details and was posted to the Black Sea, with No 76 Reinforcements. He disembarked at Constantinople on 28th February 1920. On 19th April 1920 he became dangerously ill and was admitted into No 27 Casualty Clearing Station. The diagnosis was paratyphoid and peritonitis. He was evacuated back to the UK, dying from his illness in Netley Military Hospital.
