Other Information:Richard was awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal on 1st July 1912, at the time he was serving under the rank of Staff Serjeant. He resided at 25 Byker Terrace, Walker-on-Tyne. Richard's MIC states that he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, however it also states that he first entered a theatre of war in France on the 26th June 1917. His father John Brown owned a pharmacy at 2/4 Byker Terrace, Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne, and Richard took over the pharmacy. Richard married Dorothy Oubridge in the September quarter of 1919 and they had three children. The photograph was found among other WW1 photographs, it had 'Richard Brown' written on the back.
