Other Information:The son of Wilson E Eager, Richard qualified M.B., Ch.B. 1905 [University of Aberdeen] and M.D., 1912. [Aberd]. He joined the RAMC, Territorial Force at the rank of Lieutenant in May 1908. On 4th August 1914 he mobilized with the 1st Wessex Field Ambulance but organized and equipped their second line unit - 2/1st Wessex Field Ambulance. Serving under the rank of Captain, he took over command from Major G P D Hawker on the 20th May 1915, he then gained the rank of temporary Major on the 28th September. Richard entered the war in France in January 1916 and served there until June 1916, when he returned ‘Home’ and served as Medical Officer at Military Hospitals: Warrington, Netley, Mayhall, and Littlemore. Richard disembodied in January 1920 and worked at the Devon Mental Hospital, Exminster.
