Information kindly provided by family - "Reggie was only four years old when his mother (Marjory Helen Scott nee MacIntryre died. His father Alexander Scott was a doctor and a Certifying Factory Surgeon. He was a medical student/apprentice fitter (engineer) when he signed up for the RAMC but he never went back to dentistry technician work after the war. he married Lily Dowling. Reginald Macintyre Scott died on 4th January 1957 at 68 Possil Road, Glasgow. His usual address is recorded as having been 27 Lacrosse Terrace, Glasgow. His death certificate records that he was a “Hospital Steward” and married to Lily Dowling. His death was registered by Laurance D.W. Scott, his half-brother. His cause of death is given as “Pre-senile dementia – 3 months”. The family story was that during the WW1 when he was home on leave he had his rifle propped up against the wall and his father offered him a drink. He picked up the decanter and drank directly from it – to which his father said “Good God son you will kill yourself” – his half brother Laurance (who would have been about 8 or 9 at the time), witnessed this and recounted the story – he thought it was rather ironic given where he had been in the war."
