Other Information:

Herbert was a member of St John's ambulance before 1914. He joined the 65th West Lancs Field Ambulance (Ashford). He was awarded the Military medal for bravery after rescuing an injured commanding officer. (Gazette 63, June 1919). After the war he returned home to Kent.
