Other Information:Albert attested into the R.A.M.C., Territorial Force on 13th May 1915 and was embodied into the 3rd Line of the Welsh Border Mounted Brigade Field Ambulance. He was aged 21 years and 9 months, and was a Stockbroker’s Clerk by trade at the time. On 24th December 1915 he was promoted to acting Lance Corporal. On 1st December 1916, he was posted to the regular R.A.M.C. but kept the rank. He entered the war in France on 1st January 1917 and was posted to serve with the 9th Cavalry Field Ambulance as a Stretcher-bearer. On 11th August 1918, at Sur-La-Luce, whilst the unit marched with the Brigade, the unit transport was bombed and the men were caught in an exploding ammunition dump. Albert was injured, receiving a mild wound to his left shoulder. He was evacuated back entering the 1st Australian General Hospital, Rouen on 12th August, then the 73rd General Hospital on 14th, then was transferred to No 14 Convenience Depot on 28th. At the end of the war Albert was serving with No 30 General Hospital. He returned back to the UK on 16th July 1919, and was disembodied on the 13th August.
