Other Information:Sydney enlisted in the RAMC on 9th September 1914, he was 19 years and 2 days old, and a miner by trade. His address was 7 Arthur Street, Nuneaton. He joined at Aldershot on the 11th and served at home until 17th November 1914, when he entered the war in France on 18th November 1914. On 21st March 1915, Sydney was admitted into No 4 Stationary Hospital at St Omer suffering with Scabies, he was discharged back to his unit on the 25th. He was also admitted into No 10 Stationary Hospital at St Omer suffering with tonsillitis on the 25th October - 9th November 1915, and again on 20th December - 23rd November 1915 suffering with a sprain to his right ankle. Sydney was granted 6 days leave from 19th July 1916. He was admitted into his unit on 22nd February - 3rd March 1917 suffering with Colitis, and was granted 14 days leave from 28th May 1917. He also received 14 days leave from 29th November 1918, which was extended by 4 days to the 14th December. Sydney proceeded to England on 20th December 1918 and served at home until 16th January 1919, when he was transferred to Z Reserve. He was finally discharged on 31st March 1920. Sidney reenlisted into the forces with the 7th Bn. Royal Warwickshire Regiment on 20th June 1920. His service number was 5097249. His address at the time was 46 Harold Street, Nuneaton.
