Other Information:Alfred began his military service in March 1903. He entered the war in France on 21st August 1914. Apart from the usual campaign medals awarded (The 1914 Star (with clasp), British War Medal and the Victory Medal), Alfred also received the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged on 2nd May 1922, whilst serving with No 10 Company, and ended his army career at the rank of Quartermaster Serjeant, having served 19 years and 61 days.
