Other Information:Lawrence enlisted on 3rd May 1907. He was 21 years and 1 month old, and was a butcher by trade. On 2nd May 1910 he was transferred to Army Reserve, but re-enlisted on 3rd May 1912. He was mobilized at Aldershot at the outbreak of war to serve with the 2nd Field Ambulance, entering the war in France with the unit on 19th August 1914. On 31st May 1916 he transferred to serve with the 2nd Ambulance Flotilla, serving with them until 7th June 1915 when he transferred to the 5th Ambulance Flotilla. On 24th November 1917 he was posted to serve with the 56th Field Ambulance, serving with them until 18th February 1919, when he returned to the UK. He was transferred to Army Reserve on 16th June 1919 but re-enlisted into the Army with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps on 2nd February 1921 - service number 7782064. He was the son of Robert and Emma Barnacott.
