Other Information:Albert enlisted on 13th December 1915. He was 22 years and 302 days old; was a Cotton Wool Dresser by trade; and was living at 152 Gisburn Road, Barnoldswick at the time. He was posted to Army Reserve on 14th December but was mobilized 2 days later on the 16th. He was then posted to serve with No 6 Coy. On 11th July 1917 he was transferred to the R.A.M.C. Depot in Blackpool. He embarked at Folkestone and disembarked at Boulogne the same day, entering the war in France on the 5th August 1917. The next day he entrained from Boulogne to Rouen, arriving on the 7th, and joined the Cyclists Base Depot there. They posted him to serve with the 2nd Field Ambulance, joining them in the field. He died of Influenza in No 55 Casualty Clearing Station. He was the son of John Edward and Annie Gill of 152 Gisburn Road, Barnoldswick.
