Other Information:Robert attested on 20th September 1915. He was 23 years old; a painter by trade; and living at 41 Harbour Road, Bedminster, Bristol at the time. He joined the R.A.M.C. at Bulford the next day and was posted to "X" Coy, being transferred to "Y" Coy on 24th September 1915. Robert embarked at Southampton on 9th September 1916, disembarking the next day at Rouen, he entered the war in France on 10th October 1916 and was posted to serve with the 45th Field Ambulance, in the field. On 16th January 1917, he was admitted into No 45 Casualty Clearing Station suffering with trench fever, and was transferred down the line to No 12 General Hospital. He was discharged from hospital on 27th January and sent to convalesce. Robert joined Base Details at Rouen on 30th January 1917, and then posted to serve with the 70th Field Ambulance, in the field, on 5th February 1917. He remained with this unit until he was killed. Robert was the son of George Jesty and Mary Annie Day of 736 Pierce Avenue, Niagara Falls, U.S.A.
