Other Information:Sjt Ingram lived in Seaton Delavel. He entered the war in France on the 27th September 1915. He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as a bearer serjeant. He organised parties to search for wounded men who had been buried in the debris of a house. He dug out two men and assisted in digging out others under very heavy shell fire. Throughout the period he did fine work, and showed great courage, keeping in touch with the regimental stretcher-bearers and thus assisting in getting away many badly wounded men."
