Other Information:Reginald was educated at Dulwich College, and at Guy's Hospital, where he qualified M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. in 1902. He took up a commission at the rank of Lieutenant within the Medical Services on 31st August 1903, then gained promotion to the rank of Captain on 28th February 1907. During this time he served in India from 1905 - 1910. Reginald was mobilized on the outbreak of war, entering the war in France on 19th August 1914 (Medical unit to date not traced). On 28th February 1915 he gained promotion to the rank of Major. *He arrived for duty with the 101st Field Ambulance on 22nd July 1916. On the 28th, he received orders from the A.D.M.S. 33rd Division to report to duty with Tent Subdivision of “A” Section with equipment complete to OC XV Corps, Main Dressing Station, at Dernacourt on the 29th, which he successfully did. He left the unit to report to the A.D.M.S. 6th Division on 10th September 1916 (*Information researched by John T Smith). On 11th September 1916 he began serving under the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel. He was killed whilst serving with the 17th Field Ambulance. He was the only son of Dr and Mrs Wolfenden Collins.
