Other Information:Michael enlisted on 7th September 1915. He was 24 years old and was an Attendant by trade. He embarked at Southampton on 16th November 1915 with the 101st Field Ambulance, then disembarking in Havre two days later, entered the war in France on 18th November 1915. On 4th February 1916 he became attached to the Royal Engineers. He was admitted into the 99th Field Ambulance suffering from Colic, and evacuated back to No 33 Casualty Clearing Station on 1st April 1916. He was discharged from hospital on 15th April and rejoined the 101st Field Ambulance on the 18th May. On 18th July 1916 he was admitted into No 20 Casualty Clearing Station suffering from Gastritis and was again evacuated to No 33 Casualty Clearing Station. On recovery, on 28th September 1916, he was sent to No 1 Convalescent Depot. He joined Base Details on 1st October 1916, who posted him to serve with No 17 Casualty Clearing Station two days later, on the 3rd. He arrived as a reinforcement on 5th October 1916. On 29th March 1917 he was admitted into No 7 General Hospital, where he died from Celebro Spinal Fever. He was the son of Lawrence Nolan of Main Street, Lucan, co Dublin.
