Sidney enlisted on 11th February 1916. He was 23 years old, a clerk by trade, and was living at 17 Shrubland Road, Dalston, London at the time. He recieved a shapnel wound to his left thigh and right leg on 22nd March 1918. He was transferred through the chain of evacuation but died from his wounds. Sidney was the son of George James and Amy Beatrice Garland of the same address.
