Other Information:Robert attested for service on 12th May 1915 and was embodied into the R.A.M.C. Territorial Force with 3/2nd Northumbrian Field Ambulance - his service number being 2187. He was 24 years and 8 months old, and living at 16 Charlotte Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne at the time. He was later transferred to the R.A.M.C. Regulars and was posted to "Y" Corps. On 20th November 1916, Robert disembarked at Rouen, entering the war in France. He was posted to serve with No 92 Field Ambulance, in the field, eight days later, on the 28th. Robert received a gun shot wound to his abdomen (left buttock) on 6th August 1917 and was transferred to No 24 Casualty Clearing Station. Robert did not recover and died from his wounds nine days later. He was the son of Joseph and Isabella Henshall of 3 Prospect Terrace, Amble, Northumberland.
