Other Information:Matthew enlisted on 21st October 1915. He was 23 years old; was a Shoehand by trade,; and was living at 88 Alcombe Road, Northampton at the time. He was posted to "T" Coy and then on the 28th was posted to serve with the 134th Field Ambulance. He embarked at Southampton on 6th March 1916, then disembarking at Havre the next day, entered the war in France on 7th March 1916. Matthew was admitted into his unit on 9th May suffering with Neuralgia, and then again on the 27th June, diagnosis PUO. This time he was transferred down the chain to 32 Casualty Clearing Station, then No 5 Ambulance Train to No 1 Canadian General Hospital in Etaples. On 6th July he was admitted into No 6 Con Depot, where he stayed until 10th September. He joined Base Details in Rouen and was posted to serve with the 113th Field Ambulance, in the field, on 18th September 1916. He was serving with this unit when he was killed. He was the son of James John and Elizabeth Kate Robinson; and the husband of Florence Robinson - all of the same address as above.
