Other Information:Frank lived in Ogmore Vale. He entered the war in France on the 4th December 1915. He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Learning that the medical officer in charge of an aid post had been wounded he went forward under very heavy fire, and discovered that the medical equipment had been destroyed, and that many of the stretcher bearers were casualties. He then took up a party of bearers with fresh stores, and organised the collection of the wounded. He remained at this forward post for three days and nights, during the whole of which time he displayed exceptional gallantry and proved himself to be an able leader of men."
