Other Information:Wallace enlisted on 14th September 1915. He was 39 years and 210 days old, and a gardener by trade. He was posted to serve with 99th Field Ambulance, embarking with them on 12th November at Southampton. He disembarked at Havre, entering the war in France on 16th November 1915. On 3rd March 1916 he was admitted into his unit, suffering with Nephritis. He was admitted into No 10 General Hospital in Rouen, then transferred to England on the Hospital Ship "St Andrew" on the 17th. He died at 11p.m. on 15th May in King George Hospital, London. He was the son of George and Emma Vowden; and the husband of Minnie Jessie Vowden of 3 Exe View, Exeter Road, Exmouth, Devon.
