Other Information:Ray enlisted on 21st September 1915. He was an engineer by trade; was 21 years and 7 months old, and was living at 51 Broad Street, Banbury, Oxen at the time. He was posted to X Coy for training, then posted to serve with the 99th Field Ambulance on 30th October 1915. On 12th November he embarked at Southampton with his unit, then disembarking at Havre 4 days later, entered the war in France on the 16th. On 22nd January 1915, he was admitted into his unit suffering with Rheumatic Fever. He Died in No 5 General Hospital at 2 p.m. from "M.N.G. Abdomen". He was the son of William George and Hannah Elizabeth Hawkins of 5 Station Road, Stechford, Birmingham.
