Other Information:Thomas entered the war in France on 2nd September 1915. He was in an evacuation dugout, occupied by men of the 74th Field Ambulance near Bernafay Wood, when it was directly hit by enemy shellfire at 9am. Both he and 65251 Pte W A Dunstone were killed. Thomas was the husband of R E Bulmer (nee Cookson) of City Hospital, Seacroft, Leeds. The photograph states Thomas's rank as L/Cpl but the CWGC website as Pte so it is possible that Thomas was serving as an acting L/Cpl when he died.
