Other Information:Rev. James L Rentoul was a minister of Rostrevor Presbyterian Church, and formerly assistant to Rev. Dr. Park in Rosemary Street, Belfast. He attested on 15th May 1918 and was sent to 2nd Training Battalion in Blackpool. He embarked at Folkstone and disembarked at Boulogne on 1st September 1918, then joined the R.A.M.C. Depot at Etaples the next day. On the 6th September, James was posted to serve with the 91st Field Ambulance in the field. He was killed in a dugout, along with two comrades, whilst serving as a stretcher-bearer. He was the son of the Rev. Robert Wilson Reid and Cacelia Rentoul (nee Wylie) of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary; and the husband of Agnes Eileen Rentoul (nee Moore) of " Fircroft" Hawthornden Road, Knock, Co. Down.
