Other Information:Kenneth was a native of Dunscar, Bolton, Lancs. He was educated at Manchester University entering in 1900 as a student of medicine and a research student in Public Health. He obtained the Conjoint qualifications of M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P in 1907 and graduated M.B., B.S. (Lond) in 1912. He was described as an ardent lover of all out-door sports and an enthusiastic Rugby player, his size and vigour making him a valuable acquisition to the forward ranks of the University team. Kenneth relinquished his practice in Llandudno in partnership with Dr W R Nicol and joined the R.A.M.C., gaining a commission in March 1915. He entered the war in France on 14th July 1915. He served with the 53rd Field Ambulance, but was later transferred to the 12th Bn. Manchester Regiment as their medical officer. He was killed when proceeding from headquarters dug-out to dress a wounded man. A brother officer wrote: He was very enthusiastic in his work and spared no pains to bring his hospital as near perfection as possible. The men loved him for the brotherly way he had, and respected him as an officer of ability. Kenneth was the second son of James Robinson, MD, and Jane Drennan Robinson of Ivonhurst, The Firs, Bowdon, Cheshire.
