Other Information:According to a book that was written by a reporter from Congleton, who was not there but recieved witness statements when they returned, James was killed by a bursting shell during a battle. He was out in the open tending to the wounded and bringing them back when it happened. (Information kindly provided by Mike Symmonds). James was the son of Edward and Elizabeth Cook of 17 West Road, Congleton, Cheshire.
