Other Information:Joseph enlisted on 17th August 1915. He was 22 years and 6 months old, and a commercial traveller by trade. He joined "S" Coy on the 25th August, then on 24th September 1915 he was posted to serve with the 102nd Field Ambulance. On 9th January 1916, he embarked at Southampton, then disembarking at Havre the next day he entered the war in France on 10th January 1916. On 14th July 1916, Joseph was wounded in action with a gun shot wound to his right foot. He returned to his unit on the 21st. He was appointed acting Corporal from 1st July-19th July 1917, and again on 16th August until he was killed. He was temporarily attached to the 104th Field Ambulance when he was killed, whilst doing stretcher-bearer work, in what was described as, arduous conditions. He was the son of Sarah A Bonnar of 3 John Street, Maryhill, Glasgow.
