Other Information:George attested on 13th October 1915. He was 23 years and 206 days old; a Gardener by trade; and living at Tower Lodge Cottage, Sandown Park, Tunbridge Wells at the time. He joined the R.A.M.C. at Tonbridge the same day and was posted to "T" Coy. He embarked at Southampton on 5th March 1916 with 133rd Field Ambulance, then disembarking at Havre the next day, entered the war in France on 6th March 1916. George was the son of John and Mary Balcombe of 5 Culverden Down, Tunbridge Wells; and the husband of Sarah Elizabeth Balcombe of 49 South View Road, High Brooms, Tunbridge Wells.
