Other Information:Alexander was educated at Monmouth Grammar School, and at Queen’s College, Cork - qualifying in 1914, when he became resident surgeon at the Cork Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. He resigned his post to take up a commission in the R.A.M.C. (S.R.) He entered the war in France on the 17th August the same year. On 18th October 1915, he was severely wounded at Loos and invalided home. He recovered, and in June 1916, was sent to India. Alexander was again invalided home, this time suffering with sandfly fever. He returned to France again in the November but became a victim to trench fever. In June 1918, he was sent to Egypt. He died there of Malaria. Alexander was the son of Dr St. John T and Susan Emma Foott of 4 Laurel Lillas, Mardyke Walk, Cork.
