Other Information:Ughtred married Margaret Maden on 26th June 1914 and lived at 53 Napier Street, Nelson. He was a weaver. He enlisted on 12th November 1915 aged 27 years and 95 days and was posted to 16 Coy. On 6th July 1916 he embarked at Southampton and arrived in Rouen the following day with reinforcements for the 27th Ambulance Train. However on 13th July he joined the 21st Ambulance Train ‘in the field’. On 9th January 1917 he was admitted to the 4th General Hospital at Camiers (near Etaples) with Pyrexia of unknown origin (PUO) and on 18th January 1917 was sent back to the UK on HM Hospital Ship ‘Matilda’. He was admitted to Dublin Castle Red Cross Hospital on 21st January 1917 and died on 13th March 1917 from mesenteric tuberculosis. Ughtred was the son of Margaret A Thistlethwaite.
