Other Information:Charles enlisted on 28th July 1913. He was 19 years and 3 months old, and was a salesman by trade. He entered the war in France on 18th August 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 19th Hussars. On 5th October 1917 he was wounded in action, suffering gun shot wounds to his shoulder, right arm and back. He was evacuated back to the UK on 19th October 1917. On 29th March 1918 he was a patient in the 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham, when he went absent without leave from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. He was discharged "surplus to Military requirement (having suffered impairment since entry into the service" on 9th May 1919. His address at the time was 6 Albert Villas Road, Acton, London W. He was the son of Henry Richard Dunning of 165 Abbotts Road.
