Other Information:George was educated at Daniel Stewart's College and Edinburgh University, entering as a student of medicine he graduated M.B., Ch.B. in 1913. He entered the war in France on 16th August 1914. He was killed in action near Ypres, when on an errand of mercy. Cpl Steedman acted as his dresser and brought him back for burial [Source: Edinburgh Evening News - Special thanks to John Duncan] Lt Ward, R.A.M.C. wrote to his family that George was recognised out there as a medical officer of exceptional ability, with a very generous heart, and was the 'bravest of the brave'. George was the son of George Lunan F.C.S. (a pharmaceutical chemist) and Sarah Jane Lunan of 50 Garscube Terrace, Murrayfield, Edinburgh.
