Other Information:Wilfrid was educated at St. Bee’s School, Durham University and at the London Hospital - entering in 1900, he qualified M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. in 1905. After qualifying he was acting Medical Officer of the Workhouse, at Cockermouth, Cumberland. He then settled in practice at Cockermouth, and was the medical officer of No 1 District of the Cockermouth Union. He joined the R.A.M.C. on 15th December 1914, at the rank of Temporary Lieutenant. He was wounded in the forehead by a piece of shrapnel on 1st October 1916, but remained on duty. He was killed six days later. He was the son of Mr William Pagen of Whitehaven; and the husband of Winifred Pagen of 9 Corkickle, Whitehaven, Cumberland.
