Other Information:William enlisted on 23rd March 1912. He was 21 years and 9 months old, and was a Farm Labourer by trade. He entered the war in France on 11th September 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. East Kent Regiment. He received a gun shot wound to his right wrist and as a consequence was in Wharncliffe War Hospital, Sheffield from 16th April to 17th May 1917. He returned to the war hospital on 28th July 1918 to 13th November 1918 suffering with inflammation of joints in his left knee.
