Other Information:Colonel enlisted on 17th April 1912. He was 18 years and 8 month old, and was a Clerk by trade. He entered the war in France on 16th August 1914 as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. Cheshire Regiment. On 24th August 1914 he was reported missing but rejoined the unit from missing on 19th December 1914. He was appointed acting Corporal on 3rd November 1915, then reverted back to his permanent rank of Private on 13th September 1916. On that day he was admitted into No 14 Corps Rest Station and was evacuated back to No 11 General Hospital on the 15th. On 26th September 1916 he joined Base Details, who posted him to serve with No 23 Ambulance Train on 2nd October 1916. On 26th November 1918 he once again joined Base Details, who posted him to serve with No 42 Casualty Clearing Station. On 16th February 1920 he was transferred to Section "B" Army Reserve on demobilization "For the purpose of residing permanently outside of the United Kingdom". His address was thereafter given as 118 Rue-de-Paradise, Sin le Noble, France, Nord.
