Other Information:John was educated at Ruabon Grammar School, and at Edinburgh University - graduating M.B., Ch.B. in 1904. He then held posts of house surgeon at Denligh Infirmary and assistant surgeon at Dinorwie Quarries Hospital, Llanberis. After obtaining the F.R.C.S. in 1909 he settled in practice at Hyde (Cheshire) where he became police surgeon and recruiting medical officer. He joined the R.A.M.C. (T.F.) in 1912 at the rank of Lieutenant, and was mobilized on 4th August 1914, going to France with the Cheshire Regiment in the following November. John gained promotion to Captain in 1915 and then Major in 1918. He was the fourth son of T Morris, J.P. of Oswestry. He was married and had two children.
