Other Information:Richard was educated at Epsom College, and at St Bartholomew’s Hospital - entering as a student in 1906. He obtained the diplomas of M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. in 1911. On 28th July 1911 he gained a regular army commission at the rank of Lieutenant with the R.A.M.C. He went to serve in India in 1913, and gained promotion to Captain on 28th January 1915. Richard entered the war in Mesopotamia on 6th January 1916. He went missing at Kut-el-Amara on 8th March 1916, and was presumed to have been killed on that day. Richard was the son of Dr and Mrs R T Vivian.
