Other Information:John was educated at Armadale Public School; at George Watson College from 1900 - 1904; and Edinburgh University, where he qualified M.B., Ch.B. in 1909. He was in practice at Hamilton, after taking a partnership with Dr Steel, when he took a temporary commission in the R.A.M.C. in May 1915. He entered the war in France on 27th August 1915 as the medical officer of the 10th Bn. Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment), and remained with them until he was killed by a shell when succouring the wounded. John was the son of Adam Wilson of Armadale.
