Other Information:Graydon previously enlisted in the R.A.M.C. on 17th October 1907. Serving under the service number 1322, he was transferred to Army Reserve from the Northern Command on 17th October 1908. He re-enlisted on 1st March 1909, however, he was transferred again to Army Reserve the same day at his own request. This time he was given the service number 2228. At that time he was 19 years and 6 months old, and was a Brewer by trade. On 6th August 1914 he was mobilized for war service at York. He entered the war in France on 9th September 1914 as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 2nd Bn. Durham Light Infantry. On 21st January 1915 he was invalided back to the UK and admitted into the Bedford County Hospital. On rejoining the Depot on 2nd May 1915, after sick leave, he was posted to serve with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force. On 5th August 1915, however, he was invaded back to the UK. He was on the strength of the Provisional Co. Depot when he was discharged "no longer physically fit for war service" due to sickness on 8th December 1915.
