Other Information:Frederick enlisted on 18th August 1914. He was 18 years and 60 days old, and an Engineer's Assistant by trade. He entered the war in France on 16th December 1914, then the following day was posted to serve with the 1st Division, becoming attached for duty with the 1st Bn. Gloustershire Regiment. On 13th March 1916 he was posted for temporary duty with the 1st Division Trench Maintenance Coy, then after 8 days leave from 13th March, rejoined the 1st Bn. Gloustershire Regiment for duty. On 15th November 1916 he was appointed acting Corporal with pay. On 3rd February 1918 he joined the 141st Field Ambulance for duty, his rank reverting back to Private. It was announced that he would be awarded the Military Medal on 13th October 1918. On 9th May 1919 he proceeded to the Concentration Camp for dispersal in Germany, and was struck off the strength of the unit. He was the son of Joseph and Clara of Sydenham, Kent.
