Other Information:Frederick was educated at Durham and Newcastle School of Medicine, graduating M.B., B.S. in 1913. He then held the appointment of house surgeon at Newcastle Royal Informary. He joined the R.A.M.C. Special Reserve on the outbreak of war, taking up a commission at the rank of Lieutenant from the Cadets of the Officers Training Corps on 12th August 1914, and was promoted to the rank of Captain after a year's service. He entered the the war in Egypt on 5th July 1915, and served in Gallipoli, where he gained the Military Cross. He was killed whilst attending the wounded in the first line trenches.
