Other Information:Gerald had held a commission within the Medical Services from the 31st August 1903. Serving under the rank of Captain, and as Regimental Medical Officer to the 1st Bn. Lincolnshire Regiment, he entered the war in France on the 14th August 1914. Gerald was wounded in action but in 1915 became the Commanding Officer to the 6th Field Ambulance. He was promoted to Major on the 28th February 1915. Gerald continued to serve in the Medical Services until he retired on the 10th May 1931, under the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He died at St Austell, Cornwall.
