Other Information:William entered the war in France on 11th August 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. Middlesex Regiment. His name appears on a list of R.A.M.C. personnel who were taken captive up to & including 31st December 1914. His address was given as 91 Sternaway Road, Southend-on-Sea - (kindly provided by Steve Mattocks). He was taken captive at Mons on 24th August 1914, then taken to the prisoner of war camp Munster on 20th September 1914. On 2nd December 1914 he was held at Soltou, then was taken to Osnabruck on 27th February 1915.
