Other Information:Patrick entered the war in France on 16th August 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. Norfolk Regiment. His name appears on a list of R.A.M.C. personnel who were taken captive up to & including 31st December 1914 - (kindly provided by Steve Mattocks). He was captured on 24th August 1914 at Dour (Mons), then taken to the German prisoner of war camp Sennelager, No. 2 Old English on 14th September 1914. He remained there until up until at least the 11th May 1915. When Patrick was repatriated he was stationed in Aldershot. He later joined the 1/1st Notts and Derby Mounted Brigade Field Ambulance and served with them on the Eastern Front. [Information sources: Medal Roll. RAMC Prisoner of War Roll.
