Other Information:Albert enlisted on 30th January 1908. He was 19 years and 8 months old, and was a Labourer by trade. He entered the war in France on 11th September 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. North Staffordshire Regiment. Around June 1915 he was transferred to serve with the 17th Field Ambulance but was admitted into the 18th Field Ambulance on 24th June suffering with Eczema. He was transferred to England on 17th July 1915, via the hospital ship "Anglia" from No 23 General Hospital. On 2nd October 1915 he embarked at Southampton for Rouen, arriving the next day. He reported for duty at No 12 Casualty Clearing Station on 12th October 1915, and remained with them for the remainder of the war. He proceeded to England for demobilization on 12th March 1919, and was discharged on the termination of his period of engagement on 29th January 1920.
