Other Information:William enlisted on 10th January 1912. He was 18 years and 9 months old, and was a Milkman by trade. He entered the war in France on 14th August 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers. His name appears on a list of R.A.M.C. personnel who were taken captive up to & including 31st December 1914 - (kindly provided by Steve Mattocks). He was taken captive on 27th August 1914 and was taken to the prisoner of war camp 'Friedrichsfeld' on 12th November in Germany. He was moved to the camp 'Crefeld' on 25th June 1915, then repatriated to England on 29th June 1915. On 30th March 1919 he was transferred to Army Reserve "B". His unit at the time was stated as 28th Field Ambulance. He was the son of Samuel and Annie Pugh of 112 Dartmouth Street, Wolverhampton.
