Other Information:Capt C Russell is mentioned in the war diary of the 2/Royal Fusiliers on the 28th February 1917, as being the MO on the Sailly Sector Front Line. The war diary also records that he left the regiment on the 21st October 1917 for leave in England, and on the 20th November 1917 he took part in 'The Attack' (now known as Battle of Cambrai). On the 1st February 1918 (at Brandhoek) Capt C Russell was awarded the Military Cross at presentation of Cambrai honours by Divisional Commander. On the 18th March 1918, he left the batallion (then in the Passchendaele sector) and Capt Fehily took over as MO at Bellevue. [Special thanks to James Munden]
