Other Information:Dr Marmion was a specialist in tropical medicine and working as a MO in the Colonial Services in Borneo. He returned to England and was sent directly to Aldershot. He was gazetted temporary Lieutenant 23rd February 1915. He was attached to the 10th Division and did his training at Limerick. He then went out with the Irish Division to Gallipoli. During November 1915, he was invalided home from Egypt and was later posted to the Royal Irish Fuseliers at Buncrana, Co Donegal where he served as MO. In February 1916 he was promoted Captain. During 1917 he went to Belgium possibly with the 16th Divison. In May 1918 he was discharged out of service. Dr Marmion then practiced in Aigburth, Liverpool until he died in 1936 after a long period of indifferent health. [Information provided by his Son]
