Other Information:David was educated at Annan Academy and at Edinburgh University - entering as a student of medicine in 1913, he qualified M.B., Ch.B. in July 1918. During this time he attended the medical Officers Training Corps from February 1916 until July 1918 becoming a Lance Corporal, Cadet, and was also house surgeon in Dumfries Infirmary. David received a commission in the R.A.M.C. at the rank of Lieutenant on the 29th August, then went to France after a week’s training at Blackpool. He was seriously wounded and died on his way to the dressing station, near Courtrai, Belgium. The chaplain wrote to his family advising that he had buried him along with five others, and had marked the grave.
David was the son of David and Agnes Sinclair of 21 Johnstone Street, Annan. His elder brother, Andrew, also served in the war with the Canadian Forces.
