Other Information:Noel qualified M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. in 1912, and M.B., B.S. in 1913. He joined the medical services at the rank of Lieutenant on 26th July 1912, then joined the Balkan Campaign 1912-13 as BRCS Commissioner with Greek Forces. He entered the war in France as the Regimental Medical Officer of the 2nd Bn. Royal Sussex Regiment. He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30th March 1915, then transferred to No 10 General Hospital on 1st April 1915. From 6th March 1918 to 1st January 1919, Noel served under the rank of acting Major. He then became the Commanding Officer of 90th Field Ambulance from January - June 1919, and during this time served under the rank of acting Lieutenant Colonel from 2nd January to 14th June 1919. From 25th June to 21st August 1919 he reverted back to acting Major again. Also in 1919 he became a specialist in Bacteriology. In 1920 - 1927, Noel was seconded to Egyptian army. During this time, on 26th July 1924, he gained full promoted to Major. He was posted to serve in India from 1931 to 1932, then retired on pay on 29th July 1932. Noel rejoined again on 1st September 1939 and served as a pathologist Special at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley until 1942 when he became the S.D.P. of S E Command. He served under the rank of acting Lieutenant Colonel from 9th May 1942 until 9th August when he became temporary Lieutenant Colonel until 6th June 1944. He was taken off the Roll of Officers on 26th October 1944. Noel died at Southwold, Suffolk.
