Other Information:Henry enlisted on 22nd January 1901. He was 18 years old, and a Labourer by trade. He was transferred to Army Reserve on 21st January 1909 but re-engaged on 19th December 1912. According to his Medal Index Card and the Medal Rolls, he entered the war in France on 14th August 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. Royal West Kent Regiment. The Royal West Kent Regiment is also mentioned on his Casualty Form in his Service Record. However his service records also records him being in the UK until 24th September 1914 when he left to serve on the Hospital Ship "Asturias". He returned to the UK on 24th March 1917 and was posted to 'R' Coy. He was then posted to serve with No 67 General Hospital, embarking with them at Southampton on the 29th June 1917, he disembarked at Salonika on 15th July 1917. On 19th January 1918 he was transferred from No 67 General Hospital to 90 G.B.O. for infantry training at the Salonika Base Training School, then was compulsorily transferred to the 2nd Bn. Cheshire Regiment on 1st March 1918.
